SyncVotes is a governance app on the Canton Network. A DAO is a Daml contract that changes itself only by vote. Members sign ballots with their own keys; the app counts them and the ledger checks every one. When the rule is met, the outcome is executed on-ledger.
No database of DAOs, no server that votes for you. The app hosts your party and forwards what you sign. A DAO holds no coin: its traffic is paid from a balance anyone tops up by sending Canton Coin to the app's address with the DAO's memo.
A proposal is a Daml contract that says what it does: a decision, a choice, a membership change, new rules, dissolution. Changes to the DAO pass under the DAO’s own voting rules, not the proposer’s.
Your ballot carries your share of the vote and is signed by a key only you hold. Where the rules allow it, you can change it until the deadline.
The ledger checks every ballot it is handed: right DAO, cast in time, by a member of the moment. A proposal settles the moment its outcome can no longer change, or at the deadline, and what it decided is executed with the DAO’s own authority. No tally in a spreadsheet.
Governance today is theatre — polls nobody enforces, forums nobody reads. We made the vote itself the execution.
Canton delivers a transaction only to the parties in it. A DAO's name, proposals, ballots and members reach the members and the validator that hosts them — nobody else, unless the DAO chose to be public, and then only readers of this app.

Hosts your party on its validator and co-signs each contract. It sees what it signs. Only your key can act for you.
No names, no proposals, no votes, no member list. Other validators never receive the transaction; the synchronizer that orders it sees only encrypted views.
A twelve-word phrase becomes an ed25519 key that never leaves your device. A passkey or a password unlocks it here; the phrase brings it back anywhere.
Your key is a Canton external party on this app’s validator. The validator confirms your transactions and cannot sign one for you.
Changes to the DAO pass under rules the DAO chose: open or secret ballot, majority or two thirds, quorum, 1–90 days. Decisions and choices run under the proposer’s rule.
The app follows the ledger’s update stream. A ballot cast on another screen shows up on yours the moment it lands.
